GETTING STARTED

What are the technical requirements?

Make sure you have met all these requirements before you log in:
– PC or Mac with a mouse
– Speakers or headphones#
– An up-to-date browser*
– Reliable access to the Internet
– A quiet space with no distractions

 

#Ensure audio/speakers are switched on and turned up. Some of the assessments require sound to play.

*Please upgrade to Internet Explorer 10 (IE10), Chrome or Safari for best performance. You can download the latest version from browser website.

What are the system requirements?

Make sure you’re using the most recent stable release version of your preferred browser. We can’t promise full support for beta, developer versions or some browsers that don’t support HTML5. 

 

We recommend Google Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer 9. Older versions of Internet Explorer are not supported.

 

Make sure that JavaScript is enabled in your preferred browser.

Do I need to download software?

No. You can log in and get started directly in your browser.

Am I limited to the number of users I can invite into the system?

No. You can invite any number of users – from 1 to 100,000 depending on the size of your organisation.

Why can’t I log in to my Cognisess account?

Cognisess is a web-based application that works directly in your browser. There may be a number of local internet, network, and web-related factors that can impact your connection to the Cognisess servers. In addition to the local network factors, other settings such as your login credentials and account status come into play. If you’re having difficulty accessing or logging in to your Cognisess account, take a look at the troubleshooting tips below.

 

Login credentials

Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, so check to make sure that the correct capitalisation was used. When entering your username and password on the login screen make sure there are no extra spaces included before or after the text.

 

Browser and system settings

Try logging in through a different browser than the one you’re currently using. If you’re able to log in successfully you’ll want to clear your cache and cookies in the original browser.

Connection issues

If you suspect that your connection may be the problem, try this Speed Test. If your connection speed number is less than 1,000kbps it’s going to make using our application a slow experience or cause hiccups in the process. It especially affects the login page, because that is a secure environment. You may want to see if there’s anything you can do from your end (ask your IT group, or ISP) to optimize your web connection to speed things up a bit. You just want to see a consistent read across both speed test values that hits or exceeds 1000 kbps.

 

If you’re logging in to Cognisess from a free WiFi spot, such as a coffee shop, restaurant, or sandwich shop, the connection could be blocked. These places often have restrictions on the types of websites you can use.

Can I use Cognisess platform on more than one computer?

Yes. Since Cognisess is cloud-based, you can use it on any computer with internet access.

How long are Cognisess contracts? What if I want to change my plan?

Our contracts are based on a month to month, annual or project basis. There’s no obligation and you can change your plan any time. Contact us for more information.

Monthly pricing vs pay as you go?
Monthly Plans

Our monthly plan is designed for companies who are regularly assessing their employees or candidates. Monthly billing is based on the total number of registered users under an account. It’s not based on how many times an assessment is completed or templates created – these are unlimited.

 

Pay As You Go 

Our pay as you go plan is designed for organisations that assess less frequently or want to use for a specific purpose like internal recruitment. Pay as you go plans allow you to purchase credits as needed. Pay as you go credits roll over from month to month and they do not expire.

How do the monthly plans work?

Billing for a monthly plan is automatic on the same day each month according to your sign up purchase date.

 

Billing for monthly plans is determined by the total number of registered employees or candidates stored in your account. The count is based on the sum total of registered users across all products in your account.

 

On the billing date, our systems determines the highest total over the past 30 days to calculate the monthly charge. The number of registered users determines the billing level.

 

Billing for a monthly plan is automatically invoiced or charged to the credit card on file on the same day each month according to your purchase date. You can change the credit card on file.

How do I increase or decrease my monthly plan?

Cognisess handles monthly billing automatically when your employee and candidate list grows or reduces, so if you go over or under your current plan you’ll be able to keep using without interruption. On your account’s recurring billing date, we’ll use the highest list total over the past 30 days to calculate the monthly charge.

Can I turn my monthly plan off?

While we don’t have any contracts, the monthly plans are designed as more of a long term plan for companies who are managing their employees throughout the year. Access to the platform is available 24/7.

 

When using Cognisess we do require our users to be on either the monthly plan or the pay as you go plan. We don’t have an option to turn off or put a hold on monthly billing. The monthly plan will involve a recurring charge even if you’re not using as this charge is based on your employee or candidate list storage and not how many times you use the tools.

How do we calculate exchange rates?

Cognisess will accept payments made in several currencies. All pricing is listed in U.S. dollars (USD) and if you choose to pay in a different currency, a conversion is done at the time of purchase based on the exchange rates from HSBC.

 

Additional fees may be charged by your credit card or bank for cross border transactions. None of these fees are received by Cognisess or are the liability of Cognisess. If a refund is required, it will be issued in the purchase currency for the amount of the original charge.

 

You can change your default billing currency at any time on the pricing page.

Assessment Scoring

When a user completes a Cognisess assessment, a number of performance indicators are created. These include:

 

  • Assessment score – expressed in points (pts) and as a percentage (%) for use in graphs
  • Percentile – expressed as a number between 1 to 100
  • YouQ – this is a number (e.g. 1015) comprised of both CQ (Cognitive) and EQ (Emotional) measures combined.
  • A PQ (personality) profile is also generated that describes a user’s personality attributes. These include:
    • Extraversion
    • Agreeableness
    • Conscientiousness
    • Openness to experience
    • Emotional stability
    • Social perception

 

When put together the user will have access to comprehensive breakdown of their performance in multiple areas.

About Talent Connect

Talent Connect scientifically predicts the effectiveness of a job applicant within a particular role, removing the bias and subjectivity from the recruitment process.

Our simple, user-friendly cloud-based platform guides applicants through a range of online assessments and performance-based games. The process takes most candidates around 20 minutes and compiles an in-depth profile of each individual.

About Talent Intelligence

Cognisess can facilitate organisations to understand their employees by assessing staff based on the profile of ‘top achievers’ inside and outside the business. Using “Talent Intelligence” companies can target specific assessments for individual job roles or positions and with auto-templating built in the manager can instantly view an employee’s ranking.

FAQs

An assessment won’t play. What do I do?

If you are having trouble loading a specific assessment, try refreshing your browser or clearing your browser’s temporary file cache and reloading the assessment. Your browser will have a ‘clear cache’ setting.

Can Cognisess integrate with other applications and systems?

How does the free trial work?

Your 14-day free trial gets you access to all the features in our Talent Connect or Talent Intelligence packages. At any point in the trial you can choose a plan and contact our customer support team to get started.

Can I trial both Talent Connect and Talent Intelligence at the same time?

What happens at the end of my trial?
